What is the difference between the 2 Rims?
OLSEN Rims are made by Kinlin in Taiwan. We have ridden on them for many years and you will have too, as they have customers like Giant, Ritchey, Reynolds, American Classic.
Most Rim manufacturers use 6061 T6 alloy to make rims. Kinlin have decades of experience and have developed 2 special extrusion alloys for rim manufacturing.
KLM41 ALLOY:
KLM41-T10 is a special alloy developed by Kinlin. KLM41 combines aluminium, maganese and niobium. Bringing these two together in the one alloy is a process Kinlin have mastered.
Kinlins processing does not stop there, they also use T10 (not T6) Cooling KLM41 from an elevated temperature shaping process, cold working, then artificially aging. All of this allows Kinlin to prroduce a lighter AND stronger rim - giving us lower rotational weight.
KLM41 is a tight-knit alloy structure with a fine-textured surface structure- offering elongation twice that of conventional 6061 alloys.
28 / 23mm Rims: KLM41 T6 Aluminium Alloy welded construction, 23mm wide (internal), work-hardened smooth wet-look finish.
460g Rim weight optimised for 1.5"-2.2" tyres set up Tubeless. These rims have been tested and work well with 700x35c-2.3"
35 / 30mm Rims: KLM41 T6 Aluminium Alloy welded construction, 30mm wide (internal), work-hardened smooth wet-look finish.
525g Rim weight optimised for 2.25"-2.6" tyres set up Tubeless. These rims have been tested and work well with 2.05"-2.8"
TNT RIM PROFILES:
Both Rims are Tube No Tube or Tubless ready – designed to work with tubeless tyres we have Tubeless-rim tape and valves included. However our rims will do both.
These TNT Rim profiles are designed with a centre well to locate the tyre bead inside. There is a short ledge either side sealing the tyre bead agaist the tubeless tape. These Rims will work with both tubed and tubeless tyres, we have Tubeless-rim tape and valves included.
We like inner tubes, and the tubeless tape works well as rim tape whether you are running sealant or not. We like inner tubes for those non-repairable flint slash punctures.

NIPPLES:
Black Brass for anti-corrosion resistance. Brass Nipples are the best for servicing and durability.
SPOKES:
We have chosen double butted Pillar Spokes. Pillar spokes are extremely lightweight and provide a great degree of elasticity when put under increased stress.
